The HAIR

Many have commented on Stella's hair - I have commented on Stella's hair.  She has beautiful ringlets in the back.  So . . . the problem is that she NEVER wants me to touch, wash, spray, brush, comb, place a bow in - nothing is allowed without a fight or a chase around the house.  I know you may think I am exaggerating, being a bit melodramatic.  I wish I were.  I literally am running behind her with the conditioning spray to try & tame her hair.  It's like someone chasing down a mosquito to spray the repellant.  It is NOT a pretty sight. She laughs hysterically until I get a hold of her, and then laughter turns to screams.  Her hair does look good a bit disheveled, but it is always more than a bit disheveled.  Maybe if I were a hair person, maybe if I knew more about curly hair, maybe if I had one child, maybe if I thought this would be good exercise, maybe if I was an extremely patient person, maybe . . .

All of this preface to say, I cut her hair.  Not me, I'm not that ambitious, but I took the three oldest to a salon.  Abi & Jillian got basic trims - Stella, well.  A picture says more than I can describe.
I admit it turned out a bit shorter than I anticipated.  Arturo was a bit upset that all of her curls were gone.  I am happy.  I am sigh with relief when I look at her short hair, and know that the chase (at least over her hair) is through.  At least until it grows back.  God help me then. I think it is cute, and I am hopeful that by the time it does grow back she will be excited to have gorgeous curly hair, and I will know a bit more about controlling it.
Here is a cute video of Stella feeding Chloe.

short hair is the way to go. okay, perhaps i am biased. and i will say that that first pic of her is AWESOME. she is still my favorite because she is in the middle. us middles have to stick together.

Can totally understand the cut especially as I'm a curly head myself! I use a control balm after washing and then never never brush it otherwise I have a afro!

My girls have wild and curly hair. They look like ragamuffins most of the time but I just can't bring myself to cut it. They were basically bald unitl they turned 2 so that might have something to do with my issues:)

She looks adorable with her hair short!

I KNOW exactly what you were going through. I had the same issues with Gabby before she cut her hair and then we went and got it cut even more to even it out. Some kids I guess just really do not like their hair messed with.
Good thing is.. it grows back. I think it looks cute. Gabby actually did herself a favor. Turns out we all love her short hair and are going to keep it. There are no more fights, cries, hitting, tears, or scream when washing, combing, brushing, and blow drying her hair. Worked for us.

Your girls are GORGEOUS!!!
Hugs to you... read in a previous post that you were having a bad day.

I do the same thing with my girls. They have straight hair but HATE me doing ANYTHING to it. So I have it above the shoulder until they get older and a little more responsible for their own hair. Even when I do something now, they will undo it within 5 minutes!

She looks adorable. My sister in law has the same issue with my nieces hair too. She recently cut all her hair off too :)
